My Son needs Me Sober and
Drug-Free
I always heard that a dream can come true if you really wish for it and if you really decide to work for it. My dream has come true since I arrived to Narconon Balkan. For almost all my life I never trusted myself, I didn’t have the willingness to do something that would really make me happy. I would always copy someone or do what somebody would suggest I do, but I noticed during these times that I wasn’t comfortable with myself yet I would never communicate it.
The only moment when I was “happy” was when I was taking drugs or when I was drinking alcohol. I continued to live with that in uncertainty for many years, until I really went down with the drugs and the alcohol. I didn’t realize that everything around me was affected, things became very complicated with my family, my friends and my co-workers. I was totally in the dark and I didn’t feel good with my body and my mind. I start to reject myself. However, then the love of my son pushed me to change myself and to have a better life, because my son needs me and he deserve to be happy and to have the best mother that I can be. So, I came to Narconon Balkan and I decided to do the program.
“I discovered what real happiness is…”
Since I started the Narconon program things started to change. In the ways that I have improved my body and my mind, I discovered a new me; a new me as a good and normal person. I discovered what real happiness is—to wake up in the morning, to help my group, to eat healthy, to be productive, to feel mentally and physically good. I contribute to my own progress and to the progress of the group. Most importantly, I understand if you are good to yourself, you are good for all your surroundings, and that human beings and living things are all connected in this cycle of life.
So, the better you take care of yourself, your society, your family and your surroundings, the better you will be and great positive energy you will spread around you.
A person who is not-right mentally, is not free. For me, this freedom is the key to having a successful living.
