The Love of a Sister Is Stronger than Addiction

There are not enough words to describe my deep gratitude towards everybody that helps my sister at Narconon! I don’t even know where to start... I will not go into details about her story and how she got into doing drugs. It is pretty much the same with everyone—just different circumstances and different people. When my family and I first found out about it, we tried to help her any way we knew how. We tried to talk to her. We made her see a psychologist. I took her to live with me with the hope that she will cut off all previous relationships with such people and she will find new friends. At some point, she even went to a different country to try to escape. Nothing helped. Almost a year ago things escalated and it was obvious that she could not manage to get out of addiction by herself. I couldn’t help her either. I had run out of ideas and my only hope was to find a place where people would know how to help her.

She was at a point where she no longer had any goals for herself. She couldn’t communicate properly; she couldn’t think clearly. She was acting like a crazy person—living in her own imaginary world. And believe me, the world she was living in sounded like hell. When I saw her like that, I immediately knew that it doesn’t matter at all where she goes, things will not change until she changes the way she thinks—until she starts to see the world from a different perspective, she won’t be able to find peace with herself and her past.

This is how I found out about Narconon Balkan. What got my attention at first was the fact that they do not use any medications to help people get free from drugs. Great! This was exactly what I was looking for, this was unlike any other places I went to look at. They also assured us that the whole program is structured in a way that would help my sister change her perception about drugs and the people who use them. The program is designed to help her re-learn everything—how to follow a schedule, to have a work ethic, to understand herself and the people around her better, and at the end, to be able to make good decisions for herself. So my sister started the program almost a year ago and even in the first weeks, I could see a change in her. As the program progressed, the changes in her became more obvious. And now she is a totally different person. No—rather she is the same sister I had before she started taking drugs, but with a lot of improvements. She is more confident in herself, she is more aware of the choices she makes, she takes care of her body. She knows a lot more about people and how to determine the difference between the ones that are good for her and the ones that are not. She has goals! She reads books… (she didn’t do that before).

She is happy! Every time I speak with her, she has a smile on her face and speaks proudly about her successes. She has the desire to learn new things and improve. This transformation was exactly what I was hoping for when she started the program. There are a lot more things I want to say, but as I said earlier there are not enough words to express how happy and grateful I feel to see my sister like that. THANK YOU!

Humans are made to have intentions and desires on how to spend their time on earth. But life can be unpredictable and anything can change too fast for different reasons. Families collapse and they lose balance. There is no more peace, no more harmony and life gets harder for them.

My sister was one of those humans who got badly involved in addiction. She started using drugs for quite some time and it was the reason she changed so much. This kind of addiction destroys the person who is using, and their families. Our family went through a dark time, but thankfully we and my sister are at a better place now. Addiction means hiding from the world, lying and manipulating family and friends. My parents were devastated and heartbroken. They didn’t know what to do as they never thought they would face a situation this difficult and complicated. We tried everything we could think of, but none of it worked.

While we were researching how to help her, a family member found out about Narconon and their program. After contacting the center and explaining our situation, they gave us all the needed information to consider and to decide if it was going to work for us. The reason we took her there was because she agreed to go to Narconon. The agreement of the person suffering from addiction is a very important step. My sister started the program and her life changed for good. The first months there were a bit harsh and hard because the program is very intensive. But as Robin Sharma says: “Hard times produce your greatest gifts.” The process we went through was necessary and helpful to us all.

Narconon is the best place to be if your family member is suffering from addiction to drugs, alcohol or different pills. I highly recommend it to everyone who is looking for a rehabilitation center for a better future. I want to keep your spirits up and your hopes high by telling you: Be the change for your family. Don’t get fooled by the addiction of your family member but be determined and make the move. Call or contact the right center to save their life. Call Narconon and get the right help. My sister did the program and concluded it on time with high results.

We are happy for her and she is doing beautifully in the center.

We are enormously grateful and proud of her. Her dedication to help others see the light is real. She is determined to other people get back to this beautiful, joyful thing called life. I thank her for her hard work and dedication. I’m thankful to Narconon for their enormous support and passion in their work to make this world a better place. I’m so grateful to all of you. Thank you.
